Sardis 12, Crossville 2
Brody Samples struck out 11 batters in 6.2 innings to lead Sardis to a 12-2 victory over Crossville last Wednesday (Mar. 24). At the plate for the Lions, Ty Glass had four hits and three RBI; Landon Carroll had three hits and an RBI; Carson Gilliln had three RBI; and Blaze Gerhart had two hits.

Westbrook Christian 10, Sand Rock 0
Samuel Dutton limited Sand Rock to two hits in Westbrook Christian’s 1-0 victory in Class 2A, Area 12 action last Tuesday (Mar. 23). In six innings, Dutton did not walk a batter and struck out 11. At the plate for the top-ranked Warriors (11-4), Wil Noles went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored; Brodie Self went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored; Fisher Glasgow had a hit and three RBI, Micaiah Myers had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored; Presley White had a hit and two runs scored; and Eli Grace had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Gadsden City 12, Fort Payne 8
Kyle Cline finished with three hits and two RBI in Gadsden City’s 12-8 win over Fort Payne last Tuesday (Mar. 23). Cory Cline had six strikeouts in three innings, while Andrew Jones fanned five in four innings.

Sardis 8, Crossville 0
Blaze Gerhart threw a no-hitter in Sardis’ 8-0 win over Crossville last Monday (Mar. 22) in Sardis City. Gerhart struck out 12 in seven innings. Brody Samples had two RBI for the Lions, while Justin Golden had two hits.

Spring Garden 3, Westbrook 2
Westbrook 5, Spring Garden 4
Westbrook Christian split a Class 2A, Area 12 doubleheader with Spring Garden last Saturday (Mar. 20). The Warriors (10-4) opened with 3-2 loss. Cole Patterson and Will Noles each had two hits, while Fisher Glasgow and Samuel Dutton each had one. In 6.2 innings, Noles allowed three hits, one earned run and no walks while striking out 14. Westbrook rebounded with a 5-4 victory. Dutton had a double, two RBI and two runs scored; Brodie Self had two hits, a home run, an RBI and a run scored; and Noles had a hit and an RBI.

West End 5, Locust Fork 3
Winning pitcher Eli Pearce had 10 strikeouts in 10 innings in West End’s 5-3 Class 2A, Area 12 win over Locust Fork last Saturday (Mar. 20). Pearce helped his cause with a hit and two RBI. Also for the Patriots, Trevor Willett had two hits and two RBI, while Brady Jenkins had two RBI.

Southside 12, Etowah 2 (five innings)
Michael Rich had two hits and two RBI in Southside’s 12-2 win over Etowah on Mar. 19. Landon Brasher had two RBI for the Panthers.

West End 5, Locust 4
Colby Pierce had two hits and two RBI in West End’s 5-4 victory over Class 2A, Area 12 rival Locust Fork on March 19. Winning pitcher Ty Taylor (pictured above struck out seven in seven innings.

Westbrook Christian 10, Spring Garden 0
Samuel Dutton’s no-hitter powered Class 2A No. 1 Westbrook Christian past Area 12 rival Spring Garden, 10-0, on March 18. In six innings, Dutton allowed no hits, runs or walks while striking out 15. He helped his cause by going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Also at the plate for the Warriors, Fisher Glasgow went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Will Noles went 2-for-3 with a run scored; Brodie Self went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored; Micaiah Myers had a hit, an RBI and a run scored; Cole Patterson had a hit and two RBI; and Presley White had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Gadsden City 2, Sardis 0
Winning pitcher Jase Gray struck out 13 in seven innings to spark Gadsden City to a 2-0 win over Sardis on March 18. Cory Cline had two hits for the Titans, while Eli Barber and Andrew Jones each had a hit. Landon Carroll had two hits for the Lions.

Ashville 4, Crossville 2
Caleb Bailey’s two-run RBI groundout in the bottom of the six inning paved the way for Ashville’s 4-2 victory over Crossville last Saturday (Mar. 20) at AHS. Bailey, Gavin Tyler, Layfield, Tyler Bradley, Casey Philips and Austin Hale each had a hit for the Bulldogs (9-6). Hayden Phillips earned the win, allowing five hits and two walks over four innings while striking out two.
