Local football players recognized by ASWA

Five area players were recognized in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Prep Spotlight for Week 3 of the 2015 high school football season.

Sardis senior receiver Austin Hallmark had seven receptions for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 28-7 6 win over Hokes Bluff. Hallmark also rushed seven times for 38 yards, including a 14-yard TD run.

West End senior quarterback Hunter Grant was 13-of-16 in passing for 302 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more scores in the Patriots’ 34-0 win over Section.

West End senior receiver Hunter Tarvin caught six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots’ 34-0 win over Section.

Westbrook Christian senior quarterback Joseph Schauer rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries in the Warriors’ 48-25 win over Pleasant Valley.

Glencoe senior quarterback Chase Wilson rushed for 134 yards and passed for 122 for 256 total yards in Glencoe’s 44-26 loss at Piedmont.
