Local players, coach named to all-star football rosters

Three local high school seniors were selected to participate in postseason all-star football games.
Gadsden City High School cornerback Rodney Johnson (pictured above) was named to the Alabama roster for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic football game scheduled for December 11 at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. The complete 2021 Alabama roster is available at www.ahsaa.com. Etowah defensive end and Gadsden City defensive end were named to the North roster for the AHSAA North-South All-Star game to be played at Mobile’s Hancock Whitney Stadium on December 17. In addition, Etowah head football coach Ryan Locke was named as an assistant coach for the North team.
