Local players named to all-area baseball team

A number of local players were recently selected to the Class 3A Area 11 baseball team by the school’s four head coaches. The selections reflect only performances in area games.
Garnering MVP honors was Westbrook junior pitcher Dylan Rainey (pictured above), who went 8-0 on the mound this past season to help the Warriors finish as the Class 3A state runner-up.
Joining Rainey from Westbrook were junior pitcher Braden Kay, sophomore outfielder Brady Carden, freshman infielder Brody Blevins and senior outfielder Cam Carden.
Selected from Glencoe were senior pitcher Brady Kitchens, senior infielder Trent Rowell, junior catcher Jayden Patton and senior infielder Jordan Haney.
Representing Hokes Bluff were junior pitcher Glavine Lamberth, senior infielder Brayson Hayes and sophomore infielder Bryce Whitaker.
Picked from Ohatchee were senior catcher Jesse Baswell, senior pitcher Will Folsom and sophomore infielder Xavier Luna.
