Local runners qualify for state XC meet

Three area runners qualified for the AHSAA state meet on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Indian Mounds Park in Oakville.
At the Class 5A Section 3 meet at Lineville, Sardis High’s Barit Snead (pictured above) finished in third place at 22:08.54. Blade Devin’s 14th place effort (19:04.73) in the boys race gave him a wildcard spot for the state meet.
Also making the state meet as a wildcard was Gadsden City’s Tanner Rice, who posted time of 17:40.92 at the Class 7A, Section 3 meet at Spain Park.
