Class 3A No. 9 Glencoe broke open a close game with 11 runs over the final four innings in a 16-4 victory over Class 2A No. 4 West End last Tuesday (Apr. 11) in Walnut Grove. For the Lady Yellow Jackets, Abi Bunt went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and three runs scored; Cayse Willett went 3-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored; Emma Croy went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and four run scored; Aubrey Maxwell went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; Hailey Hanners went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored; Jordyn Morris went 2-or-5 with an RBI and Summer Crump had an RBI double and a run scored. For the Lady Patriots, Josie Bunch had a two-run home run and a run scored; Daliegha Wheeler went 2-for-2 with a run scored and Peyton Hall went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Sparked by a standout pitching effort from Kayden Tarvin, Sardis posted a 7-0 win over Boaz last Tuesday (Apr. 11), In six and two-third innings, Tarvin allowed one hit and one walks while striking out 11. She helped her cause with a pair of hits. Also for the Lady Lions, Jayda Lacks went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a run scored; Jalyn Hannah went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored; Maddie Harris had a home run, an RBI and a run scored; and Vada Wilmore had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Ohatchee edged Hokes Bluff, 8-7, last Tuesday (Apr. 11). For the Lady Eagles, Abbi Payne went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored; Rosie Garrett went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored; Kayla Traylor had a two-run double and two runs scored; Makenna Bennich went 2-for-5 with two double and an RBI and Hayden Wolfe had a triple and a run scored.

Sydney Simpson’s stellar pitching outing went for naught in Etowah’s 3-0 los to Cherokee County last Tuesday (Apr. 11) in Attalla. In seven inning, Simpson scattered seven hits and two earned runs while fanning 13. Laura Wood had the lone hit for the Lady Blue Devils (17-13).

The Etowah offense battered Ohatchee for 22 hits, including 11 for extra bases in a 17-5 victory over Ohatchee last Monday (Apr. 10). For the Lady Blue Devils, Maggy Bennett went 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored; Laura Wood went 3-for-6 with two home runs, including a grand slam, a double, six RBI and two runs scored; Elizabeth Gilliland went 4-for-5 with three doubles, an RBI and three runs scored; Jaleigh Devine went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, and three runs scored; Lauren Farmer went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Kylee Wilder went 2-for-5 with a home run, an BI and two runs scored; Bella Owen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored; Sydney Simpson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Chloe Kelley had a hit and a run scored. Simpson earned the win in two innings of work, allowing no hits, one run and five walks while striking out five.

Gaston belted out 15 hits in a 15-0 win over Crossville in five innings last Monday (Apr. 10). At the plate for the Lady Bulldogs, Meleah Crane went 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored; Makenzie McCarver went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored; Emma Samples went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; Lauren Herd went 2-for-4 with two BI anad two runs scored; Kiana Green went 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored and Chloe Pence Brown and Randi Morgan each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Lexi Ponce went the distance on the mound to earn the win, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out seven.

West End fell to Locust Fork, 6-4, last Monday (Apr. 10) in Walnut Grove. At the plate for the Class 2A No. 4 Lady Patriots, Josie Bunch hit a three-run home run and scored a run; Peyton Hall went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Dailegha Wheeler went 2-for-3.
