A number of local athletes qualified for the AHSAA track and field state meets at the sectional tournaments on April 26 and 27.

Gaston High’s Kodie Bogle won his third straight sectional title in the javelin. His wining throw of 169-10 was almost 20 feet longer that the second-place finisher.
