Locust Fork outlasts Westbrook, 47-43

In a game that ended after midnight due to a lengthy weather delay, Locust Fork defeated Westbrook Christian, 47-43, in a Class 3A Region 6 game on Friday, Sept. 13 at Locust Fork.
The Hornets (4-0, 2-0) led 12-7 after one quarter, 26-16 at halftime and 26-23 after three quarters.
For the Warriors (2-1, 2-1), Brody Blevins rushed for 273 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries and was 7 for 12 in passing for 46 yards.
Bo Kilgo had six receptions for 57 yards, while Brodey Wood carried 15 times for 90 yards and a score. Read Barber kicked a 29-yard field goal.
Locust Fork out-gained Westbrook 489 to 476 in total yards.
Jaxon Marotz, Titus Jones and Easton Skaggs led the way defensively with eight tackles each, followed by Max Legg with seven, Jake Haney with six and Noah Wright and Jackson Ramsey with five each. Jones and Wright each had two sacks, while Wright recovered a fumble.
The Warriors host region rival Piedmont on Friday, Sept. 20.
