Miscues doom Panthers in loss to Guntersville

Guntersville turned three first-half turnovers into three touchdowns on the way to a 21-7 victory over Southside on August 18 at Barney Hood Stadium.
The Panthers’ lone score came on Gauge Nesmith’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Cody Roberts with 5:13 left in the game. Abdullah Allabassi kicked the extra point.
Nesmith was 12 for 31 in passing for 112 yards. Roberts caught seven passes for 32 yards, while Scotty Motes had four receptions for 63 yards. Mason Teague rushed 12 times for 70 yards.
Brody McCutcheon and Titan Rich each had 13 tackles, followed by Brayden Bow with nine, Blake Phillips with eight, Brody Burnett with six and Silas Osborne and Koal Garrett with five each.
The Panthers visit Hokes Bluff on Thursday, August 25.
