Panther Grapplers Slam Titans

The Southside Panthers showed the Gadsden City Titans why they have one of the top varsity wrestling programs in the state – dominating the visitors 7 matches to 3.

Noah Bradford started things off right for the Panthers, pinning 103-pound foe Kevin Griffith.

Hannah Gladden tried her hand at the Panthers in the second bout. Gladden faced Brandon Estes in the 135-pound match, but was pinned after a powerful slam.

Southside tallied two more victories. Kade Kitchens pinned Devin Crook in the 145-pound weight match and Adam Pierce pinned Daniel Clark in the 152-pound match.

David Clark earned the first score for Gadsden City, pinning Dalton Vaughn after a long 160-pound match.

Southside countered with three consecutive pinfalls. Chase Mathews pinned David Pham in the 171-pound match, Lee Edge pinned Michael Parker in the 189-pound match and Skylar Stephens pinned Tavaris Pearson in the 195-pound match.

The Titans closed strong, with big Aquarius Jones pinning Austin Criswell in the final varsity match.
