Several Southside cross country runners turned in impressive performances at the Southern Showcase last Saturday (Sept. 18) in Huntsville.
In the Championship division, Jackson Griggs (pictured above) posted a PR and broke the school 5K record with a time of 16:01. The record was previously held by Hunter Nails and Taylor Nails, both of whom went on to run for UAH.
Luke Holcombe finished runner-up in the Blue Division with a time of a 16:15, while freshmen Taylor Dortch finished 13th in the Crimson Division at 22.13. In addition, Alexis Valentine ran a 21:15 PR.
The Southern Showcase has qualifying standards for the event’s top three divisions, with teams from across the Southeast competing.
