Patriots, Conquerors, Bulldogs come up short

West End remained winless on the season with a 35-6 loss to Cleveland last Friday (Sept. 28).

The Patriots (0-5) grabbed a 6-0 lead in the game, taking the opening possession and holding the ball for 9:35. Chase Blanton scored on a 1-yard run with 2:25 left in the first quarter. The point-after attempt was blocked.

Cleveland finished the night with 207 yards rushing and 56 passing, while West End was held to 138 total yards.

The Patriots resume their Class 2A, Region 7 schedule on Friday at home against North Sand Mountain.

Gaylesville built a 28-point halftime advantage and cruised to a 40-13 Class 1A, Region 7 victory over Coosa Christian last Friday (Sept. 28) at GHS.

The Trojans limited the Conquerors (0-5, 0-5) to just 126 total yards.

Gaston fell to Wadley, 22-6, last Friday (Sept. 28) in high school football action.

The Bulldogs (0-5) resume Class 2A, Region 7 action this week with a visit to Westbrook Christian.
