Playoffs within sight for Panthers after third straight region win

Southside improved to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in Class 6A Region 8 with a 36-21 victory over Buchhorn on Friday, Oct. 11 in New Market.
For the Panthers, Koal Garrett had 11 rushes for 91 yards. Jordan Bryan (pictured above) was 2 for 4 in passing for 51 yards and carried five times for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Jevontae Strong gained 46 yards and a touchdown on four attempts. Brayden Bowers ran for two touchdowns. Josh Peoples had three receptions for 59 yards.
Southside continues region play on Friday, Oct. 18 at Gadsden City for the first-ever game between the Etowah County neighbors.
