RBC native participates in national conference

Rainbow City native and Gadsden City High School graduate Laura Minton, UAB School of Medicine and American College of Radiology PIER Scholar, recently presented at the National Medical Association in Washington, D.C.

Laura was one of fourteen medical students selected across the United States to participate in the ACR scholars program. Her preceptors included Dr. Lauren Colbert, MD; Dr. C. David Fuller MD, PhD of MD Anderson Cancer Center; and Dr. Nicholas Beckman of UT Houston to include 100 hours of lectures, 1:1 additional resident level lectures, clinical trial and bibliometric research projects and 1:1 meetings with radiologists around the world. Minton was also published as a first author in the ACR case in point medical publication.

While Minton’s presentation at the National Medical Association was specific to polyarthralgia, she has also been working as a medical physician scientist at UAB on breast cancer drug development and therapeutic delivery this summer. She currently resides in the Birmingham area while attending UAB Medical School.
