Redskins tomahawk Sardis

By Ben Cook/ For Sand Moutain Reporter

Rashad Roberson returned three punts for 102 yards with touchdowns of 43 and 50 yards to spark No. 5 Oneonta (8-1 overall, 7-0 Region 6) to a Class 4A victory over visiting Sardis (5-4, 3-4).

Sardis took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Brett Rains’ 35-yard touchdown reception from Will Scott.

Oneonta then reeled off 56 unanswered points.

Sardis added a fourth-quarter touchdown when Keenan Lewis broke loose for a 63-yard run.

The Lions lost four consecutive region games, preventing them from advancing to the state playoffs.

Sardis ends the season on Friday at Boaz.
