Sardis falls to Boaz

Sardis lost to Boaz, 51-16, in Class 5A, Region 7 action on October 14 in Sardis City
Following Brian Chapman’s 72-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Burns and his two-point conversion throw to Eli Morton that pulled the Lions within 14-8 with 11:07 left in the first half, the Pirates scored 37 straight points to put the game out of reach.
Sardis closed out the scoring late in the fourth quarter on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Chapman to Carson Gillilan. Chapman ran for the two-point conversion.
Chapman was 10 of 21 in passing for 132 yards.
Sardis (3-5, 1-4) closes out region play this Friday (Oct. 14) at Guntersville.
