Sardis offense in high gear against Brewer

Sardis finished with 709 total offensive yards and nine touchdowns in a 61-26 victory over Class 5A, Region 8 rival A.P. Brewer on Friday, Oct. 25 in Sardis City. The Lions finished the season at 3-7 overall and 2-4 in region play.
For Sardis, senior quarterback Brian Chapman (pictured above was 22 of 27 in passing for 381 yards three touchdowns. He also rushed three times for 27 yards.
Levi Martin paced the ground game with 244 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries. Grant Coe added 57 yards on five carries. Martin and Coe each had two receptions.
Rush Whidden had six receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Cole Lankford caught five passes for 113 yards and a score. Cade Holcomb and Josh Hopper both had three receptions, Holcomb for 68 yards and Hopper for 30 yards and a touchdown. Hudson McDaniel ran for a 1-yard touchdown.
Defensively, Martin had 10 tackles, including four for a loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Kaidence Wilson had eight tackles, while Coe had six, including three for a loss. He also forced a fumble.
Holcomb had three stops, recovered a fumble and returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown. McDaniel and Seth Cooper both had a sack.
