Sardis sticks it to Cleburne County, 34-13

Sardis rebounded from a season-opening loss to Geraldine with a 34-13 victory over Cleburne County on Friday, Aug. 30 in Heflin.
For the Lions, Brian Chapman (pictured above) was 10 of 16 in passing for 160 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 12 times for 90 yards and three TDs.
Rush Whidden had four receptions for 96 yards and a TD, while Levi Martin had 11 carries for 60 rushing yards and a score.
Martin led the way defensively with 15 tackles, followed by Evan Wahl with 12 and Kaden Walters and Grant Coe with 10 each. Jordan Garrett had an interception
Sardis begins its Class 5A Region 8 schedule on Friday, Sept. 6 at Arab.
