Sollie solid as Westbrook wins third straight

Westbrook Christian finished with 403 yards of offense while limiting Innovation Academy of Tennessee to 103 on the way to a 48-7 victory in high school football on Friday, Oct. 11 in Rainbow City.
Eighty of the Sentinels’ total yards came on one play. Westbrook did not allow any passing yards.
For the Warriors (5-2, 3-2), Sam Sollie (pictured above) was 15 for 18 in passing for 266 yards and four touchdowns. Brodie Johnson had five receptions for 100 yards and a TD,
while Landon Thrasher had four catches for 42 yards and a score. Jerry Zeringue had three catches for 35 yards, while Bo Kilgo had three receptions for 23 yards and score. Beckham Hammontree had two catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively for Westbrook, Jonathan Hersman had nine tackles, including two for a loss. He also had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Landon Thrasher had seven tackles, followed by Maddox Mooney and Brooks Whiteside with six each and Jaxon Marotz, Miguel Francisco and Elijah O’Connor with five each. Marotz and Francisco both had a tackle for a loss, while O’Connor also had a sack.
The Warriors resume Class 2A Region 6 play on Friday, Oct. 18 at J.B. Pennington.
