Because of the forecast for rain this weekend, the City of Gadsden has rescheduled a number of Christmas events including the official tree lighting and opening night of Christmas on the Coosa.

The City Hall Tree Lighting originally planned for Friday, December 1, has been rescheduled for Friday, December 8. The times remain the same: music at 5 p.m. and the tree lighting at 6 p.m.

This was going to be held in conjunction with the Coosa Christmas Boat Parade, and that event remains scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, December 1. The boat parade is organized by the Neely Henry Lake Association and any changes/cancellations will be announced on their Facebook page.

The opening day for Christmas on the Coosa event, which features ice skating, vendors, food trucks and more, will now be Monday, December 4.

The associated Mistletoe Market at Christmas on the Coosa will be December 15-17 and December 22-23. Many vendors will be set up on December 15-17 and some will return the following weekend.

Christmas the The Falls will still be open for the original schedule, but in the event of inclement weather, the event may be cancelled the same morning. Check the Noccalula Falls Park Facebook page for updates or cancellations.
