Southside beats Pell City in region tilt

Southside opened its Class 6A, Region 7 schedule on September 3 with a 21-14 victory over Pell City.
For the Panthers (2-1, 1-0), Maddox Parsons rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Gauge Nesmith was 7 for 16 in passing for 126 yards and a touchdown. Everett Grizzard caught three passes for 14 yards, while Cody Roberts had two receptions for 82 yards.
Defensively, Broady Johnson (pictured above at right) had 11 tackles, followed by Spencer Sharpe with 10, Jacob Davis with 9, Ethan Light with eight and Tytan Rich and John Gilbert with six each. Gilbert had two sacks, while Rich and Johnson each had one. Taylor Carr had an interception.
Southside travels to Oxford this Friday (September 10) for more region action.
