Southside wins; Etowah, Ashville come up short

Southside improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in Class 5A Region 6 action with a 35-21 win over Springville on Sept. 15 at Barney Hood Stadium. Southside travels to Odenville on Sept. 22 against region rival St. Clair County.

Etowah dropped to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Class 4A Region 6 with a 48-9 loss to Fultondale Sept. 15 in Attalla. The Blue Devils continue region play on Sept. 22 with a visit to Good Hope.

Ashville came up short against Hanceville, 32-6, in Class 4A Region 6 action on Sept. 15.  The Bulldogs (0-4) have an open date this week before visiting Hayden on Sept. 29.
