Gadsden City High’s Gabe Ford was nominated for both the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Offensive Player of the Week and the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight awards for the week of Nov. 14. The senior halfback finished with 215 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in the Titans’ 45-28 victory over Oak Mountain in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs. Ford rushed 15 times for 143 yards and touchdown runs of 4 and 57 yards and caught three passes for 72 yards and a 49-yard score.
