Titans make all-region football

Several members of the Gadsden City High School football team were recently named to the Class 6A All-Region 8 squad.
The 2023 Titans went 9-4, won a second straight region championship and made the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2016.
Making the first team were senior quarterback Luke Waldrop (pictured above at right), senior defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr., junior running back T.J. Worthy (pictured above at left), junior receiver Matthew Sparks, sophomore offensive lineman James Wood, senior defensive lineman Jerrell Brasher, junior defensive lineman Nemo Samples, sophomore linebacker Chris Butler and sophomore defensive back Ty Sims.
Selected to the second team were junior offensive linemen Tre Williams and Kileque Jones, sophomore receiver Kerrell Yow, junior defensive lineman Taylor Barber, senior defensive lineman Tre Johnson, senior linebacker Kevin Brooks, senior defensive back Cameron Rolley and sophomore defensive back Zyan Gibson.
Receiving honorable mention recognition were Gabriel Brito, Charles Townsend, Jaylen Sneed, Justin Peoples, Keyshawn Curry and Jordan Underwood.
Ali Smith was named All-Region 8 Coach of the Year.
