Titans post clean sheet while winning Falcon Fest

The Gadsden City High boys soccer team outscored the opposition 16-0 en route to winning the Falcon Fest at St. John Paull II Catholic High School on Saturday, Feb. 17 in Huntsville.
The Titans (4-1-1) opened the tournament with a 9-0 win over West Limestone. For GCHS, Bladimir Cervantes had four goals and one assist, Byron Felix (pictured above at right) had one goal and four assist, Dimitri Guerrero had two goals and two assists and Jared Aguirre and Jaden Duran each scored one goal.
Goalkeepers Julio Tapia-Lake and Erick Gaytan shared the shutout.
Gadsden then beat Columbia, 4-0, in the semifinals. Bladimir Cervantes and Brandon Cervantes each had a goal and an assist; Guerrero and Aguirre both scored one goal; and Shalom Sekaya and Diego Marroquin each had an assist. Tapia-Lake had the shutout in goal.
In the championship match, the Titans defeated St. Paul II Catholic, 3-0. Marroquin, Guerrero and Bilsan Perez-Roblero each scored a goal, Bladimir Cervantes had two assists and Isaac Lopez had one assist. Tapia-Lake shutout in goal.
Bladimir Cervantes and Zakorien Shack were named the tournament’s Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP, respectively.
