Although their team finished on the short end of the scoreboard, Gadsden City seniors Gabriel Brito and Jerrell Brasher represented their school well at the 64th North/South All-Star Classic football game on Dec. 15.
Brito (pictured above) went 4-for-4 in PAT attempts and Brasher finished with two tackles and a sack in the North’s 31-28 loss at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Quarterback Luke Waldrop also participated in the game.
Brito finished the 2023 season with six field goals, including one from 50 yards. He also punted twice for a 42.5 average.
Brasher had 79 tackles, including 23 for a loss, and 11 sacks as the Titans went 9-4, won a region title and made the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2016.
“All three of these young men represented their school and their community very well,” said GCHS head football coach Ali Smith. “It was a great experience for them, and it was nice that they could compete in the high school environment one more time. All three have the opportunity to continue their athletic and academic careers in college.”
