Westbrook Christian edged Ohatchee, 35-34, on Friday (Sept. 4) in Rainbow City in the Warriors’ Class 3A, Region 6 opener.
Joseph Schauer’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Chandler Richards with 8:30 remaining held up as the winning score.
Schauer completed 13-of-18 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 24 carries.
Richards and Andrew Schauer each caught four passes.
Westbrook (1-1, 1-0) visits Glencoe for a region game on Friday (Sept. 11).
