West End comes up short at Sand Rock

West End lost to Sand Rock, 14-8, in a non-region matchup on Friday, Aug. 30.
The Patriots’ lone score of the game came on Jaxon Hamby’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Eli Williams at 9:58 of the first quarter. Hamby ran in the two-point conversion for the 8-0 lead.
Sand Rock outlined West End in total yards by a 248 to 210 margin.
Hamby (pictured at left in photo) was 5 for 10 in passing for 131 yards. He also rushed 14 times for 43 yards. Williams had two receptions for 126 yards.
The Patriots host Falkville on Friday, Sept. 6 to open 2A, Region 6 play.
