By Chris McCarthy/Publisher

Westbrook Christian senior Ali Collins recently signed a soccer scholarship with Columbia (S.C.) College.

Collins led the Lady Warriors in scoring from her sophomore though her senior year.

Collins is one of the top soccer players in Etowah County, and received All-State and All-Area honors numerous past seasons.

Collins also played for the Fusion ’94 club team, as well as participating in basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading at Westbrook Christian.

She has a family history of athletes, as her father played baseball at Iowa Western Community College and Hardin-Simmons University. Her mother was a cheerleader at Eastern Kentucky and her uncle played football at Union (Kent.)College.

Collins is interested in becoming either a veterinarian or child’s occupational therapist.

“Ali will bring an athletic and energetic presence to our team,” said Columbia head soccer coach Josh Kiper. “We look forward to her joining the Koalas next fall.”
