Westbrook sweeps Ragland Tournament

The Westbrook Christian varsity basketball teams won the Ragland Christmas Classic last Tuesday (Dec. 20). The Class 3A No. 9 Warriors (11-1) defeated B.B. Comer, 48-44. Cameron White led Westbrook with 11 points, followed by Cooper Greer with 10. The Lady Warriors (6-6) posted a 51-28 victory over B.B. Comer. McKayla Bean and Bella Millirons scored 14 and 12 points, respectively for Westbrook.
In the tournament semifinals last Monday (Dec. 19), the Westbrook boys beat West End, 66-38, while the girls defeated West End, 67-20. Eli Edge (pictured above) scored 12 points for the boys, while John Gilchrist added nine. Eli Golden paced West End with nine points. Bean finished with 15 points, followed by Bella Millirons with 10 and Reece Carden with nine.
On December 16, the Westbrook boys beat Ohatchee, 59-30. Cole Potter scored 11 points, while Eli Edge contributed nine points and five rebounds.
Westbrook swept Piedmont on December 15. The boys, who won by a score of 63-60, were led by Edge with 21 points and five rebounds, Nolan Terrell with 15 points and six rebounds and
Cameron White with 11 points and five rebounds. The girls’ 39-27 victory was led by Bean with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five steals; Millirons with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Key Jones with 12 points.
