Yellow Jackets roll past Susan Moore

Glencoe kept its playoff chances very much alive with a 42-14 win over Class 3A, Region 6 rival Susan Moore on Friday (Oct. 18) at SMHS.

The Yellow Jackets (4-3, 3-2) took the lead for good on Dylan Stone’s 53-yard touchdown run at 10:21 of the first quarter.

The Bulldogs drew within 14-8 at halftime on a touchdown run and two-point conversion run.

Glencoe made it 21-8 at 9:18 of the third quarter on Stone’s three-yard scoring run, but the Bulldogs kept within striking distance less then a minute later on Keith Jackson’s 64-yartd touchdown catch from Ryan Brown.

That was as close as Susan Moore would get, as the Yellow Jackets closed out the game with three straight scores – the first on Stone’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Wills, the second on Stone’s 51-yard run and the third on Ozmint’s 82-yard interception return.

Stone finished with 155 rushing yards on 20 carries, while Thomas Ozmint ran 14 times for 90 yards.

Stone went 11-for-18 in passing for 135 yards, while Pace Ozmint caught three passes for 60 yards.
