Have you ever wondered if you truly matter? In a world that can make you feel overlooked or insignificant, here’s a truth that changes everything. You matter deeply to God. Not because of what you’ve done. Not because you’ve gotten everything right. You matter simply because you exist.
And once you truly grasp that, it changes how you see everyone else.
That difficult coworker.
The homeless person on the corner.
The family member who keeps making poor choices.
They matter to God just as much as you do. Their souls carry the same eternal value in His eyes. This is where our mission begins. We are not called to decide who deserves God’s love. We are called to see people the way God sees them.
When Jesus encountered Zacchaeus, He didn’t see a corrupt tax collector worthy of judgment. He saw someone worth pursuing. Someone who mattered. Someone whose life could be redeemed. That same heart beats in us today.
If people matter to God, they must matter to us.
Life has a way of breaking people. Some brokenness is visible addiction, homelessness, obvious struggle. Other brokenness hides behind success, smiles, and stability. But brokenness is everywhere. And as followers of Christ, we are called to care about the broken, the overlooked, and even those who have been hurt by the church and sworn they’ll never return.
God does not give up on them. And neither should we.
Caring doesn’t mean fixing everything. Sometimes it simply means showing up, listening without judgment, and reminding someone they still have worth. Many of us were once the broken ones someone cared about. Someone saw past our mess and refused to give up. Now we get to be that someone for others.
We also cannot ignore the reality of eternity. Heaven and hell are real. Jesus spoke clearly about two paths one wide and easy, one narrow and life-giving. That truth isn’t meant to paralyze us with fear, but to awaken us with urgency.
If we believe eternity is real, we cannot stay passive.
Jesus didn’t die just to inspire us. He died to rescue us. Every person we encounter has the opportunity to choose life. Every conversation, every relationship, every interaction becomes a moment to point someone toward hope.
And never forget this. You have a rescue story.
You were once lost and now you’re found. Someone prayed for you. Someone showed up. Someone pointed you to Jesus. Your rescue story is not just your testimony, it’s your calling. If God could rescue you, He can rescue anyone.
This is how the Kingdom moves forward. One rescue at a time. One life touching another.
When emergencies happen, first responders don’t hesitate. They don’t ask who deserves help. They respond because lives are at stake. God is calling us to that same urgency. To stop waiting. To stop deflecting responsibility. To take the mission personally.
God has placed you exactly where you are for a reason. Someone in your world is waiting for a spiritual responder to show up.
The mission matters.
The people matter.
And today, God is calling you to move.
Walk in grace. Stand in truth. Live blessed.
