Council, IDA Director discuss incentives for industry lead

Gadsden-Etowah Industrial Development Board Executive Director Mike McCain cannot disclose any information about an industrial prospect that is looking for a home, and may be looking at Gadsden.

McCain met in executive session Sept. 4 with members of the Gadsden City Council to get authorization on what incentives Gadsden can offer while trying to attract the industry.

Etowah County Fair set for Sept. 18-22

Preparations are underway for the 73rd annual Etowah County Fair coming to the fairgrounds in Attalla Sept. 18-22. The 2012 fair promises all the traditional elements of the county fair – food, carnival rides and games, exhibits and entertainment. Etowah County’s fair is the second oldest in the state.
