Leaving a legacy: Community mourns Wilson

Downtown Gadsden and the surrounding community ended 2013 mourning the loss of local businessman Kerry L. Wilson.
Wilson, 58, died on Dec. 29.

Former Ike Saks building owner Julius Rubel dies at age 97
On the same day that the current owner of the Ike Saks building at the corner of 5th and Broad streets passed away, Julius Sidney Rubel, who owed the building until 1979, died in Longboat Key, Fla.
According to a published obituary, Rubel and his late wife Joyce Saks Rubel lived in Gadsden for many years and owned Ike Saks Clothing

Swing your partner: Open house in January for Square Dance classes
The Gadsden Twirlers Square Dance club will host three Thursday evening open house meetings in January at the Gadsden Senior Activity Center.
The club meets for classes each Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the center in downtown Gadsden.
