Honey-Baked Ham Company and Cafe has a new location, and this time it is permanent. Honey-Baked Ham has opened a holiday kiosk at Gadsden Mall for the past five years. They now have a storefront at 110 West Grand Avenue Suite 100 in Rainbow City.

Gadsden Regional welcomes new cardiothoracic surgeon

Gadsden Regional Medical Center has gained a new cardiothoracic surgeon. Dr. Daniel McCoy now works with GRMC staff to operate on a variety of heart and lung related diseases.

He has brought with him the know-how to perform a less invasive surgery to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms, which he refers to as “silent killers.”

The decorations aren’t all in place yet in Courtney Walker’s new office, but he has already hit the ground running as the city’s new Parks and Recreation Director. Walker took over the city’s recreational department effective Jan. 1 this year.

Walker, 46, started working for the department in 1994, managing various community and recreational facilities in Gadsden.

The Crimson Tide completed a regular season sweep of Auburn after a comfortable 79-68 win over the Tigers on Tuesday (Feb. 17). It was a much-needed victory for the Tide, especially after they suffered a disappointing home loss to Vanderbilt a few days prior.
