GRMC honors Malone as Employee of the Month

  Cassandra Malone, a housekeeper in Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s environmental services department, was named the hospital’s Employee of the Month for April.

  Malone received the honor during a presentation by GRMC’s Chief Operating Officer Paul Theriot on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Gadsden High student named semifinalist in Scholars Program

  Harsh Sinha, a graduating senior at Gadsden City High School, has been named one of 565 semifinalists in the 2015 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from more than 4,300 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities.

Hardin Center celebrates 25 years with lawn party

  The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts will host a big band lawn party as part of their year-long 25th anniversary celebration. The party will be held on the lawn of the Gunn Bellenger house on May 17 and will feature the Kings of Swing Orchestra, which have been entertaining Gadsden and the surrounding area since 1994.
