Cassandra Malone, a housekeeper in Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s environmental services department, was named the hospital’s Employee of the Month for April.

Malone received the honor during a presentation by GRMC’s Chief Operating Officer Paul Theriot on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Nominations for Malone called her “very kind,” “nice and polite” and someone who “went above and beyond” for patients during their respective stays at the hospital.

“Cassandra was very kind to me and my mom,” said one patient who nominated Malone. “She’s very good at what she does!”

“Cassandra brings a caring kindness to everything she does,” said John Duvall, director of environmental services. “Her patients and fellow team members enjoy working with her and having her as part of the team. She never fails to brighten the day when she’s serving others.”

A 1977 graduate of Gadsden High School, Malone has been with GRMC since May 2013.

Malone resides in Gadsden with her husband, Christ New Life Church pastor the Rev. Chris Malone. They have five children and 12 grandchildren.
