Former Etowah coach makes good on a promise

The former Etowah High and current Albertville varsity girls basketball coach returned to Wyman Townsel Gym on Nov. 13 for the first time as an opposing coach since leaving the Lady Blue Devils five years ago.

Glencoe High’s Pace Ozmint is the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 All-Etowah County Schools football team.
The senior running back/receiver/safety/punter had an outstanding season on both sides of the ball for the Yellow Jackets, who finished with a 9-2 record and made the Class 3A state playoffs for the seventh straight season.

Gadsden City, Gaston win Alabama Power grants
Gadsden City and Gaston were among 32 high schools that recently were awarded a $2,500 grant in the Alabama Power Foundation’s Power To Play program. The grants will help the schools increase participation.
