  Pace Ozmint scored a game-high 18 points to lead Glencoe High to a 70-62, come-from-behind win over Ohatchee on Tuesday (Feb. 11) in the Class 3A, Area 11 Tournament semifinals in Rainbow City.

Westbrook torches Ashville in area tournament

  Westbrook Christian shot a blazing 53 percent from the floor, including 44 percent from the 3-point arch, as the Warriors pounded Ashville, 87-51, on Tuesday (Feb. 9) in the semifinals of the Class 3A, Area 11 boys basketball tournament in Rainbow City. 

Westbrook (28-3) will play Glencoe for the area championship on Thursday (Feb. 11).

YMCA to host Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance

On Sunday, February 21, the YMCA of Coosa Valley will continue a new family tradition with its Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. at 210 at the Tracks in Gadsden.

The cost is $20 a ticket for father and daughter. Tickets for additional daughters are $15 each.
