Catanzaro is low medalist as Westbrook wins Glencoe Invitational

John Hilliard Catanzaro’s low medalist score of 137 helped the Westbrook Christian boys golf team win the Glencoe Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 19) at Silver Lakes.

The Warriors finished with a team score of 585, edging out runner-up Muscle Shoals by 14 points. Also for Westbrook, Harrison Martin shot a 143 score to finish tied for third in the individual scoring with Glencoe’s Brock McNeely and Etowah’s Tee Brown. William Weathington shot 149 for the Warriors, followed by J.P. Pirani with 161 and Jackson Bowman with 165. In individual play, Westbrook’s Jared Patterson shot 167. 

The host Yellow Jackets finished in fourth place with a combined 619 showing. Jack Sims followed McNeely with a 150 score, followed by Ethan Womack with 155, Andrew Lang with 171 and Jeremiah Ward with 210.

Gadsden City finished in 10th place. Pacing the Titans was Gavin Deck with a 154 score, followed by Trey Perry with 162, Stacey Barnes with 163, Ben Koury with 165 and Staley Dawson with 174.

Also competing were Etowah (673), Southside (695), Hokes Bluff (768) and Sardis (978).

For the Blue Devils, Greg Ledbetter followed Brown with a 166 score, while Eli Antisdate shot 180, Alex McFarland 186 and Alex Argo 187. 

Hayden Lee led the Panthers with 157 score, followed by Devon Downs with 173, Brock Lawley with 196, Andrew Oldham with 202 and Kaleb Yancey with 276. 

Pacing the Eagles was Jeremy Black with a 173 score, followed by Cole Contris with 174, Josh Jones with 210, Tucker Marsh with 211 and Ethan Whitcomb with 232.

Kyle Cole led the Lions with a 223 score, followed by Clay Cole with 251, Daniel Rich with 247 and Kaleb Morgan with 257.
