Dr. Bayer opens new practice in Gadsden

There is a new doctor in town. Dr. Steven L. Bayer, M.D. has been providing obstetrics and gynecology care as an Air Force doctor since 1994.

Bayer grew up in north Alabama prior to joining the military and says that he is excited to return now and serve the citizens in his home state. Bayer strives to  provide the higest level of specialty care and innovative surgical techniques to offer his patients the best results and minimize recovery time.

He says that he is proud to have the opportunity to now establish has practice in Alabama and provide advanced gynecology and surgical care to the Gadsden community.

Bayer graduated from Vanderbilt University and received his medical degree and training through the Uniformed Services medical school in Bethesda, Maryland. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecology.

Bayer’s specialties include minimally invasive surgery, medical and surgical treatment of pelvic pain, menopause medicine and general gynecology. He strives to give more time to each patient and make sure all their needs are met.

Bayer has been married to his high school sweetheart Marianne for 29 years. The couple has four boys ages 12, 19, 21 and 24.

Bayer’s new office is located at 1907 Rainbow Drive Suite C in Gadsden. The building is across from Gadsden Country Club. The brand new office opened August 18. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The office is closed every day from 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch.

Bayer differs from other ob/gyn’s because he offers both gynecology services and cosmetic procedures, including coolsculpting. Coolsculpting is a noninvasive permanent fat removal laser treatment.
