Chick-Fil-A to hold fall festival

By Sarrah Peters, News Editor

Chick-fil-A, located on 4th Street in Gadsden, will host a Fall Festival on Monday, October 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the lot behind Chick-fil-A.

The restaurant is expecting about 300 people to attend the event. The event is free.

The female and male Chick-fil-A cows will attend. Police and fire departments will attend with Sparky the Fire Dog.

The family-friendly event includes live entertainment, a train ride, inflatables, a pumpkin patch with pumpkin painting, a bean bag toss, a cookie walk and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to win small prizes, candy and raffled gift baskets.

Feathered Friends, an animal rescue, will provide a petting zoo and horse rides.  Starshine Faces will be making balloon animals. The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts will be providing crafts and painting faces. The Tabernacle quest mobile will feature an interactive adventure.

Chick-fil-A has held some sort of event for the community for almost 10 years. The restaurant used to hold a back to school event, but changed it to the Fall Festival.

“We try to help the community to come together to give back to our customers,” said Stacy Roach, one of the event’s organizers.

Roach said that without the community, Chick-fil-A would not be able to do this.

“There are probably 10 or 15 local businesses and churches that always help us make this possible,” said Roach.

Roach said that the Chick-fil-A employees often work double shifts to man the festival.

“It takes everybody to make this happen,” said Roach.
