Locals compete at Gadsden City open meet 2

Gadsden City placed first in five events while Southside won five and Sardis four at the Gadsden City open track and field meet No. 2 on March 18 at GCHS.
The Southside boys took home the most overall medals with 10, while Gadsden City and Sardis girls both had five.
Individually, Sardis’ Torin Bright and Southside’s Jackson Griggs (pictured above) each won two events, Bright in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles and Griggs in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs.
Also competing in the meet were Etowah, Gaston, Glencoe, Hokes Bluff, Albertville, Appalachian, Boaz, Cedar Bluff, Clay Central, Cherokee County, Douglas, Gaylesville, Locust Fork, Pinson Valley, Pleasant Valley, Ragland, Sand Rock, Southeastern, Springville, Susan Moore and Wenonah.
