Southside wins Oneonta meet

The Southside boys track and field team medaled in 17 events and won five at the Oneonta Invitation on April 8.
The Panthers totaled 160 points, 49 more than runner-up Center Point.
Luke Holcombe (pictured above) won a pair of gold medals, one in the 3200-meter run (10:36.09) and another in the 1600-meter run (4:42.40). Also posting first-place finishes were Grayson Russell in the 200-yard dash (22.61), Sam Kilgo in the long jump (20-04.75) and the 4×100-meter relay team of C.J. Butler, Nathan Whitt, Cody Roberts and Grayson Russell (43.72).
Jackson Griggs earned silver medals in both the 800-meter run (2:07.61) and the 1600-meter run
(4:42.57). Also taking second place were Nathan Witt in the 200-meter dash (22.66), Sam Kilgo in the high jump (5-06.00) and Ryan Maudsley in the 3200-meter run (10:40.84).
Taking the third-place bronze were Will Anglea in the 800-meter run (2:08.01) and 1600-meter run (4:43.28), Amon Firestone in the long jump (19-01.75), Collins Davis in the discus (98-00) and Will Shirley in the javelin (114-04).
The Southside girls finished in fifth place out of 12 teams. Coming in second were Zoie Menk in the 400-meter dash (1:05.15) and Alexis Valentine in the 3200-meter run (14:28.48). Third place efforts were Emma Gallagher in the shot put (27-01.00) and the 4×100-meter relay team (52.96).
