Local students shine at Special Olympics

Nine student athletes representing Gadsden City High School and Litchfield Middle School competed in the swimming event at the Alabama Special Olympics Summer Games on May 19- 21 at Troy University.

It was the first time in three years that the games have been held due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Medal winners included Austin Clay with a gold in a relay and silver and bronze in individual events; Albert Hall with a gold in both a relay and individual event; Zack Moon with a gold in a relay event and a silver in an individual event; Caleb Long with a gold in a relay event and gold and bronze medals in individual events; Jace Long with a gold in a relay event and a gold and a bronze in individual events; Cameron Banks with two golds in individual events; Zion Banks with a gold in both a relay and individual event; Zamarcus Collins with a gold in both a relay and individual event and Cash Anderson with a gold in both a relay and individual event.
