A new laptop, Christmas presents and holiday blessings

Hopefully, everyone had a blessed Christmas!

This week’s article will be typed on one of my Christmas presents, a laptop computer. I’m still trying to figure things out, but so far, everything is working out well.

My e-mail address has not been transferred to another computer or device for many years. There have been many phones and one computer in my past that never asked for my password, and what a chore it’s been to figure things out. I still have a Yahoo e-mail account that I use every day. This new laptop is going to use my newest Google account because I do not remember my password to Yahoo. Yahoo e-mail is on my phone, so I guess I will send my articles to my phone from this computer on Google then go from there. In other words, Improvise and adapt.

My new laptop is touchscreen, which is unchartered territory for me. I think this new approach will be doable; however. I found this new addition out while setting up, which was like transferring my old phone to a new phone.

My Microsoft account automatically downloaded everything on my old computer except my previous articles and e-mails.

My husband Alan and I had an agreement to not buy each other anything for Christmas, but he did not keep up his end of the bargain. I felt bad, but so far I love this computer. Like every Christmas, I am blessed way more than I deserve and will be forever grateful.

Many of my new seniors gave me Christmas gifts and some have been giving gifts all year, so I feel spoiled year around.

My family gave me special gifts that reminded them of me for Christmas. Those are some of the best gifts I could receive. Our daughter Eva sent me a Christmas Eve picture of two of our grandchildren’s gifts in separate piles, ready for them to open when they awoke the next morning. This is a tradition we did with her and her brother. The caption underneath the picture said, “I thought of you.” I might have cried.

The big surprise this year was the church acknowledging what little I do for our seniors.  What a blessing! I’ve never been recognized in such a way for doing what is a blessing anyway.

Praises to God for sending His son and sending people to be a blessing all year, not just on the holidays. God is good all the time; all the time, God is good. Happy New Year, y’all!
