Etowah wins; Glencoe, Sardis, Gaston come up short

Etowah posted a 28-21 victory over Class 4A Area 6 rival White Plains on Friday, Oct, 18 in Attalla.
For the Blue Devils (3-5, 3-3), Jameson Scissum (pictured above) was 19 for 30 in passing for 270 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 50 yards on eight carries. Lamont Richardson had five receptions for 140 yards and two TDs and returned a punt 60 yards for a score.
Bennett Reeves and Cash Hayes each caught four passes, with Reeves also scoring a touchdown and catching a two-point conversion pass. Zayden Knight had three receptions for seven yards.
Etowah concludes region play on Friday, Oct. 25 at Alexandria.

Glencoe fell to Ohatchee, 46-21, in Class 3A Region 6 action on Friday, Oct. 18 at GHS.
For the Yellow Jackets (2-6, 1-5), Jake Boggs rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Alex Hudson carried 13 times for 82 yards, while Bronner McMurray ran for 54 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts. Aiden Johnson added 48 yards on two carries.
Jalen Hunter led defensively with seven tackles, followed by Cooper Gomez with six, Hudson
and Parker Gulledge with five each and Johnson with four. Gulledge also had an interception and a forced fumble that was recovered by Hudson.
Glencoe continues region play on Friday, Oct. 25 at Locust Fork.

Sardis lost to Fairview, 38-18, on Friday, Oct. 18. The Lions (2-7, 1-4) close out both their Class 5A Region 6 schedule and season on Friday, Oct. 25 at home against A.P. Brewer.

Gaston fell to Pisgah, 58-6, in Class 2A Region 7 action on Friday, Oct. 18 at GHS. The Bulldogs (2-6, 1-4) close out region play on Friday, Oct. 25 at Sand Rock.
