Nancy Stewart, longtime member of the Gadsden City Board of Education, is expressing gratitude to voters and reaffirming a commitment to serving students, educators and families while continuing to strengthen the city’s public schools.
Stewart, who has served on the Gadsden City Board of Education since 2010, said it has been an honor to represent the community and called the opportunity to continue serving “a privilege.”
“Education has always been something I care deeply about because I know the impact our schools have on the lives of our children and the future of our community,” Stewart said.
Looking ahead to the new term, Stewart said priorities include continuing to invest in students, supporting teachers and staff, maintaining and improving school facilities, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Stewart also highlighted the importance of collaboration among school board members, noting that while differing opinions may arise, members remain united in their commitment to making decisions that benefit students.
“We may not always agree on every issue, but we share a common purpose—to do what is best for our students,” Stewart said, emphasizing that education is a shared responsibility involving parents, grandparents, educators, businesses, churches and community organizations. Stewart noted that continued partnerships with those groups will remain a priority during the upcoming term.
Serving on the school board has been “one of the greatest honors of my life,” Stewart said, adding a commitment to listening to constituents, earning their trust and working to provide every child with opportunities to reach their full potential.
Stewart concluded by thanking voters for their support and expressing optimism about the work ahead to continue improving educational opportunities for Gadsden students and families.
