Two teams playing for nothing but pride will meet up in Centre tonight (Oct. 25), as neither squad has a chance at making the postseason.

“It would be great to get a win or two here at the end of the season, to get the bad taste out of our mouths,” Hokes Bluff coach Mike Robertson said. “We’ve had our day in the sun but we’d like to have a few more.”

Both teams are in similar situations, as both were state championship contenders not long ago but both have hit hard times.

“(Cherokee County) isn’t the worst team in the world,” Robertson said. “They’ve come close to a couple of other wins but couldn’t pull them off. Again, sort of like us.”

The Eagles’ lone touchdown against Anniston came on a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Cole Williams to Phillip Ward.
