Area golfers compete at Yellow Jacket Invitational

Several local girls golf teams competed in the Yellow Jacket Invitational Tournament on March 10 at Silver Lakes in Glencoe. Twenty-five schools and 82 players participated in the event hosted by Glencoe High School. 

In team competition, Westbrook Christian finished at 285, followed by Gadsden City and Southside at 392 each.

Hope Cone led the Lady Warriors with a 91 score, followed by Ellie Porter with 93, Sydney Fairchild with 93 and Grace Guyton with 107. 

Pacing the Lady Titans was Audria Woods with a 118 score, followed by Haley James with 136, Daisy Allen with 138 and Ciara Jones with 139. 

For the Lady Panthers, Jordan Reavis scored 120, followed by Mackenzie Reavis with 123, Adriana Martinez finished with 149 and Haley Gray scored with 177.

In local individual play, Glencoe’s Lauren Cole scored 108, followed by Hokes Bluff’s Amber Bigelow with 128 and Abigail Reeves with 172.

Hoover won the event with a 236 score, with Athens’ Michela Williams taking first place in individual play with a 69 score.
